If your child has enjoyed the challenge of March Munch and is happily packing and eating vegetables each day for their classroom break, then encourage them to keep it going! Staying hydrated is essential for our health and wellbeing as our bodies rely on water to function properly. Water helps us digest food and absorb nutrients that are essential for growth. It also helps us regulate our body temperature and eliminate waste products. As inflation and supply continue to put pressure on food prices across the state, it may be time to raid the pantry and freezer for our forgotten friends – that’s our tinned, jarred, dried and frozen foods. Here are some of our favourite tinned and frozen foods and how they can be used. Are you looking for an outdoor activity to enjoy as a family this Autumn? You could try planting vegetables together. Our new Grow as a Group activity can easily be enjoyed at home as well. Most packaged foods have a nutrition panel and an ingredients list. Knowing how to read a food label makes choosing healthy foods easier. To help you decode food labels and make the best choices when buying packaged foods, take our handy wallet card with you when shopping. Chop and change the vegies you eat, and the way you cook them, and your body will thank you for it.
