LiveLighter is a public education campaign urging Western Australian adults to eat well, be active and maintain a healthy weight. Advertisements take you inside your own body, showing you first-hand the toxic build-up caused by unhealthy choices. Head to the website to learn more about toxic fat and how it increases your risk of chronic disease. Then, use interactive tools to assess your health risk and follow it up by making the most of resources, recipes and expert tips.

Cancer Council Western Australia

Cancer Council Western Australia was established in 1958 and has a proud history of reducing the incidence and impact of cancer in our community. It supports organisations to promote healthy lifestyle behaviours such as using sun protection, eating a healthy diet and increasing physical activity.

The Heart Foundation

The Heart Foundation recognises that heart healthy habits are formed in the early years, and aim to work with Australian schools and children to promote healthy eating and physical activity. Information includes teacher resources, Jump Rope for Heart, out of school hours care and more.

Western Australian Schools Canteen Association (WASCA)

WASCA is an independent non-profit organisation, assisting schools of all education systems and community groups to establish and maintain healthy, profitable food services by providing information, advice, resources and training. In partnership with government health and education sectors, non-government health organisations and the business community, the Association contributes to programs designed to improve the health of Western Australian school-aged children and adolescents. WASCA is working closely with the WA Department of Education to support schools to implement and maintain the Healthy Food and Drinks Policy.

Refresh.ED provides professional learning videos and information sheets on key nutrition topics in addition to a large suite of free, high-quality K-10 nutrition teaching materials.

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program

A national program that aims to change the way children approach and think about food. Children are enthusiastically getting their hands dirty and learning how to grow, harvest, prepare and share fresh, seasonal food.

WA Health Promoting Schools Association (WAHPSA)

WAHPSA advocates and supports a whole school and community approach to health and wellbeing. The Association achieves this through education, coordination and collaboration with school communities and health agencies.

Foodbank WA

Foodbank WA delivers practical nutrition education and hands on cooking sessions to students across WA through its Food Sensations initiative. Through the School Breakfast Program, Foodbank WA also supplies Western Australian schools with food products to ensure that all children have an equal opportunity to receive a wholesome, nutritious breakfast on a regular basis.

Schools Plus

Schools Plus supports schools in low SES areas to raise funds in a variety of ways including crowdfunding and Smart Giving. If you have a health initiative you want to get off the ground at your school but lack funding, Schools Plus may be able to help.
